Counseling skills are the foundation of helping clients. But as dietitians, we're not trained in counseling approaches and must navigate learning these skills on our own.
Hi! I'm Amy. I am a dietitian and therapist. I practice in South Carolina where I specialize in treating eating disorders and trauma. My second passion is teaching counseling and therapy skills to dietitians. As a licensed therapist, I bring a unique perspective to my dietetic practice and the resources I can offer to my colleagues.
I have worked in a variety of settings as a dietitian. I do understand the struggles we face in helping our clients reach long-lasting and sustained progress.
By combining the evidenced-based therapeutic models we know produce behavior change with the art of counseling, and the nutrition science; we can have a real impact on our clients.
When things are not working; it is time we do something different.
